Yamo-Yamo

After two successful theater tours in 2006 and 2009, Yamo-Yamo is back with a new show - Kishongo, a dazzling and stunning African drum and dance spectacle.

Kishongo offers a harmonious and varied combination of dance, passionate percussion, string instruments, a xylophone, and various other African instruments.

In Africa, the drum is an important instrument. It is used as a common musical instrument and as a means of communication. The energetic and flamboyant percussionists of Yamo-Yamo do not merely play the drum, they play with the instrument and know how to produce the most fantastic and unthinkable sounds.The virtuoso percussionists and tireless dancers perfectly communicate with each other, resulting in a dazzling and stunning spectacle.

The show portrays contemporary social life in Africa. However, the emotions passion, resistance and joy stand out, offering a source of inspiration and positive energy.

The group Yamo-Yamo was founded in 1997 by Georges Soro, former member of
les ballets de Côte d'Ivoire and the Ensemble Koteba d'Abidjan.Thanks to the enthusiasm and perseverance of its members, the group has become a true and valuable representative of the rich African culture.
