NOM.NOS is the opening performance for the Urban Dansdagen 2024. With the Amenti Theater Company, artistic director and dancer Gil Gomes Leal (known from So you think you can dance, and more) creates neomythical dance theater in which old myths and stories are transformed into new material. In NOM.NOS, the cast embarks on a journey through West African myths in search of their original names. Through dance, puppetry, ritual and oral storytelling, the cast connects with their ancestors, their invisible lifeline to the mother continent, their roots, and the safety and familiarity of the soul.
