Do you know how many decibels fit into a dozen? How many drumsticks an average percussionist wears out per hour of rehearsal? Or how many BPMs your ears have to endure? a2 + b2 = c2, a circle is round, and 3x3=9. It's timeless; mathematical rules are ingrained in our society. You can't escape them. Even music is a form of mathematics. And Slagwerkgroep UNA is passionately exploring that scientific path. The percussionists have hit the books. They are adding, subtracting, dividing, and multiplying. They are exploring the limits of that what already exists and will likely step beyond them.
