The beauty of it all is a meeting of two dance artist favorites who will each re-enact an historic NDT work, and a choreographer who will create a new work for these NDT 2 dancers. This program strikes the perfect balance between honoring NDT's legacy and rich repertoire, and creating space for new artistic voices that provide the company with surprising perspectives.

Jiří Kylián made 27'52" for NDT 2 in 2002, a work that takes the audience into a game of seeking and being sought, of holding and being held, of pushing and pulling. A game in which the dancer ultimately has to leave the stage alone. The title refers to both the length of the work, 27 minutes and 52 seconds, and the date of birth of former NDT dancer and artistic director of NDT 2 Gerald Tibbs. 27'52" was created thanks to a unique collaboration with composer Dirk Haubrich.

The second piece of the evening is by Maxine Doyle, director and choreographer at Punchdrunk. Her work combines intense physicality with a focus on character construction and non-linear narratives. Her premiere for NDT 2 marks Doyle's debut with the company and will be a creative collaboration with composer and musician Cassie Kinoshi, who will create an original composition for the work.

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Minus 16, which was created for NDT 2 in 1999, the company is pleased to present this work by Ohad Naharin again. Featuring music ranging from Dean Martin to mambo, and from techno to traditional Israeli music, the work breaks down the division between the dancers and the audience in unpredictable ways. Ohad Naharin is the current resident choreographer and former artistic director of the renowned Batsheva Dance Company.
